Macromedia Selects Blue Pacific's Flash Printer Technology for Contribute 2
Lisbon, Portugal October 1, 2003-- Blue Pacific Software, today announced that Macromedia® licensed their Flash Printer technology, allowing any printable document to be converted to the Macromedia Flash format. Macromedia has named this technology FlashPaper and it ships with the recently released Macromedia Contribute™ 2.
Blue Pacific's technology transforms any printable Windows document into a compact, web-friendly Flash format that can be read by the more than 500 million web browsers with the Flash Player installed. FlashPaper documents can be preloaded and streamed to a client browser, greatly reducing delay and creating the best possible user experience - even on low bandwidth connections. Blue Pacific's technology also supports double-byte international languages through the use of Unicode, permitting documents to be published in a broad range of languages.
"We're very proud to be selected by Macromedia. It's a clear indication that we're creating innovative and well designed world-class products. Flash Printer created an entirely new field - pervasive Flash document publishing to web audiences." said Jorge Diogo, CEO at Blue Pacific. "I am glad to see that Macromedia will make this technology available to the wide audiences it deserves", commented Diogo.
"FlashPaper is an exciting and unique technology within Contribute 2" said Jack Moran, vice president of product development at Macromedia. "We are pleased that the Flash Printer technology, has helped in enabling Macromedia customers to embed rich Flash content within their web pages."
By enabling Macromedia FlashPaper as a document delivery and visualization mechanism, Flash Printer technology presents a unique and easy-to-use way to publish documents in a common format that is viewable by large number of users who can view Flash content.
